Our Trustees
Joe Hardman
Born and brought up in Hillingdon, I have worked in the borough for the last ten years, firstly with the Hayes and West Drayton Partnership and now as BAA Heathrow’s Economic Development Manager. I have helped to develop and implement a range of regeneration, training and education programmes around Heathrow, including the airport’s Centre of Vocational Excellence and apprenticeship programmes, and have been involved with Key House since its inception. I am married with two young children and currently live in Ealing.
John Piggin
Apart from a temporary sojourn as a student in Leeds, I have always lived within the boundary of what is now London Borough of Hillingdon. I am a Chartered Engineer, and initially worked in the private sector as a structural building designer, first with Arup and then Lovell Construction, before concluding my career within Hillingdon Building Control. Coincidentally, while employed with Hillingdon, I was part responsible for checking Key House during its refurbishment, for compliance with Building Regulations. I became a Trustee of Key House in December 2006.
Carl Nielsen
I have lived in West Drayton since 1936 and worked as a manufacturing engineer with local companies incluidng EMI and Black and Decker. After my retirement I worked part time for a local Housing Association and became involved with local voluntary and community groups. I trained as a Learning Disabilities advocate with DASH, and also became involved with local care homes as a fund raiser and member of the managment committee. I am a former Chair of Governors at Cherry Lane Primary School. More recently I have taken a keen interest in the regeneartion of Yiewsley and West Drayton as a member of the Town Centre Action Group. This led to my involvemnt with the refurbishment of Key House and I am delighted to see the restoration work that has been carried out and the excellent use which is now being made of the building.
Paul Williams
While born and spending the first 18 years of his life in Wolverhampton, Paul has lived in Hillingdon since 1975 and still hope ardently to see the Wolves back in the premiership one day. He has spent most of his working life as an officer of Hillingdon Council, initially in the Housing Department working on the new build and housing modernisation programmes, but primarily in the Chief Executive’s Office, where his work included major developments, community partnerships and local area agreements. Paul retired from Hillingdon Council in 2007. Paul is married with two grown up sons and takes a broad interest in current and local affairs. Paul joined the Trustees in April 2008.
